While earning my Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, I put together a model for guiding students through the creative writing process. My goal was to find ways to allow students to open up and share whatever creative spark they had in an environment that encouraged such language. The result was the Shameless Voices pedagogy.
Shameless Voices presents new ideas in creative writing pedagogy, especially in the development of student voices. In addition, the workshop focuses on production of text rather than critique of existing text, and helps students to apply a more professional critical voice when commenting on other student work.
